Mirhana Berisha graduated from a medical high school with the initial intention of pursuing studies in pharmacy. However, when International Balkan University (IBU) offered full scholarships in economics programs, she recognized it as a valuable opportunity to study in a diverse and multicultural environment. Although it was not her original plan, she decided to take a new path and enrolled at IBU.

She studied at IBU from 2009 to 2013, where she completed her undergraduate studies in the Department of International Economic Relations. Continuing her academic development, she also earned her Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at IBU.

Her time at IBU had a significant influence on both her personal and professional development. The multicultural environment helped her become more open-minded and confident, while balancing her studies with work in a pharmacy taught her discipline and strong time-management skills. Through the university’s practical approach to learning, supportive professors, and valuable networking opportunities with people from diverse cultural backgrounds, she built a solid foundation for her future career. She sees this period as a time of personal growth, educational investment, and commitment one that continues to reflect in her professional achievements today.

Currently, Mirhana Berisha works at the National Bank of the Republic of North Macedonia as a Junior Analyst in the Payment System Department. In this role, she supports the collection, analysis, and reporting of data related to payment statistics, contributing to the National Bank’s responsibilities in producing statistics in accordance with the law, while also supporting efficiency and financial stability. She credits her experience at IBU as an important part of her preparation for this role, particularly through the university’s emphasis on real-world case studies and project-based learning.
